This brown scapular is made of 100% wool with a picture of St Therese of Lisieux, the Little Flower, on one piece and Our Lady's Scapular Promise on the other. A crucifix is attached to the St Therese Brown Scapular. In addition, a St Benedict medal is attached. Instructions for enrollment in the brown scapular and information on the Rule of St Benedict is included.

The brown scapular promise was given to St Simon Stock, a Prior General of the Carmelite Order, by the Blessed Virgin Mary. When the Blessed Mother appeared to St Simon Stock, she handed him the scapular and promised that Whosoever dies wearing this scapular (habit) will not suffer eternal fire.
