This 12 inch statue of St. Agatha shows her in a blue dress with a white apron. She is standing on a silver base with "St. Agatha" engraved in it. It is a painted plaster statue. St. Agatha died around 250 in the persecution of Decius. She was persecuted by a Roman official who wished to violate her virginity. She suffered terrible tortures but her mangled body was healed by St. Peter. She later died a martyr for her faith. She is venerated as the patron saint of breast cancer, Sicily, bakers, against fire and natural disasters and of sexual assault victims.
