This unique statue portrays a very young Mary reading a book. The base has a plaque which reads "Nina Maria". This statue was made by a group of widows in Colombia who lost their husbands to the violence there. It is made from plaster and is 8 inches tall. It is small enough to place on your desk at work or somewhere in your home. This statue of Mary as a child reminds us of that period of her life where she was under the care of Ss. Joachim and Anne but also that even at this young age she was devoted to worshipping God. It can also be a reminder that in order to reach Heaven we must be childlike in our faith and devotion.
