The New American Bible (NAB) was carefully translated by the Confraternity of Catholic Doctrine from the original Hebrew, Greek, and Aramaic texts for English-speaking Americans. Once it was published in 1970, it was declared the official basis of the Lectionaries in the United States and used at Mass until 2002, when the New American Bible Revised Edition became its replacement. The compilation of the New American Bible Revised Edition (NABRE), also known as the Saint Joseph Bible, was conducted by 100 scholars and theologians. A completely new translation of the Old Testament was made and the 1986 edition of the New Testament became the new standard. The readings at Mass in the USA are currently taken from the NABRE. The NAB New Testament CD - Includes 14 Audio CD's.

From the original and oldest available texts of the sacred books, with a better understanding of Hebrew and Greek and the science of textual criticism, and with the fruits of patient study, these translators and editors have developed this contemporary version that is sure to respond to the need of the church in America today.

On high quality compact discs, Eric Martin narrates this popular non-dramatized version of the New American Bible on 14 audio CD's.

  • This NAB translation is the achievement of some fifty biblical scholars.
  • These Catholic scholars have approached more closely than ever before the sense of what the sacred authors actually wrote.

The narrator, Eric Martin, has worked as a journalist, narrator, actor, writer, and radio broadcaster, and has received National and International honors in the field of narration.
